AUGUST 7, 2026 – Author Viktor Zubin has released his book, God & Money: How to Get Rich Using the Principles of the Bible, now available from Barnes & Noble.
The book opens with Zubin describing his own frustration with financial hardship and with what he sees as a common response from other Christians: that money is spiritually suspect, or that wanting wealth conflicts with faith. According to the author, this attitude is rooted in a misreading of certain Bible passages, including the frequently cited line “the love of money is the root of all evil.” Zubin writes that the problem is not money itself but a lack of financial education, and that many well-meaning Christians remain poor because they have misapplied Scripture in ways that discourage them from building wealth.
Across twenty-two chapters, Zubin examines passages he says are commonly used to argue against pursuing wealth, including the account of Adam’s labor in Genesis and several parables from the Gospels, among them the Rich Fool, the Sower, and the Rich Man and Lazarus. He offers his own reading of each passage and argues that, understood differently, they support rather than discourage the pursuit of financial success. The book also addresses tithing, saving, debt, and what Zubin calls “the middle-class trap,” and closes with a warning to readers he addresses directly as “the rich,” cautioning against pride and complacency once financial success is achieved.
Zubin frames the book as a personal project as much as a teaching one. In it, he describes being the eldest son in a family that came to the United States following the collapse of the Soviet Union, and writes candidly about his motivation to provide financially for his parents as they age. He also discloses that he lives with cerebral palsy, which he describes as part of what has driven him to pursue financial independence. The book includes a personal letter to his father, in which Zubin acknowledges his father’s work ethic while explaining why he has chosen a different financial path for himself.
Zubin states in the book’s closing pages that he does not present himself as a financial expert but as someone motivated by his own experience and frustration with financial hardship among Christians. He encourages readers to research further and draw their own conclusions rather than relying solely on the book. All Bible quotations in the book are drawn from the New King James Version.
