SINGAPORE – October 14, 2026 – Fooyo, a Singapore-headquartered company founded in 2014 that builds data platforms and AI agents for government agencies, enterprises and SMEs across Asia, today launched FDE (forward deployed engineering) as a service, a model built to get enterprise AI deployed to production rather than stuck in pilot. The company places small senior engineering teams inside client operations to ship working AI agents into production. Fooyo already deploys its production AI products, including its AI Knowledge Base and Fooyo Commerce storefront platform, into clients’ own private cloud and public cloud environments across Singapore, Japan, the UAE and the United States.
The new offering responds to a gap documented across the AI industry in a July 2025 report. According to MIT NANDA‘s “The GenAI Divide: State of AI in Business 2025,” based on 52 structured interviews, a survey of 153 leaders and analysis of 300+ public AI initiatives, roughly 95% of corporate generative AI pilots delivered little or no measurable profit-and-loss impact, with only about 5% achieving rapid revenue gains. Fooyo’s FDE-as-a-Service starts with a focused assessment of the client’s workflows, followed by development, integration and testing on the client’s chosen infrastructure. Each engagement begins with an agreed scope, delivery milestones and success criteria. The timeline depends on the workflow, integration complexity, data readiness and client security and approval requirements.
“We’ve met companies that spent close to six months on an AI pilot that never left the slide deck. Getting a working system into production isn’t about a better model, it’s about putting an engineer next to the team that will actually use it,” said Li Shaohuan, Founder and CEO of Fooyo.
Fooyo’s engineers work across both Western and Chinese model ecosystems, choosing between frontier systems such as Anthropic’s Claude, OpenAI’s GPT and Google’s Gemini and open-weight models including Alibaba’s Qwen, DeepSeek, Moonshot’s Kimi and Z.ai’s GLM, selecting per task based on cost, language fit and data-residency rules. Fooyo supports deployment in a client’s private cloud, public cloud or on-premises infrastructure, depending on operational, security and compliance requirements; for full data residency, the application and its supporting services can run entirely within the client’s infrastructure. Public and private cloud deployments can run on major platforms including AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, Alibaba Cloud and Tencent Cloud, with hosting regions selected based on the client’s requirements. Data access, storage, encryption, retention and security controls are configured to the client’s IT policies and applicable regulations, including Singapore’s PDPA where relevant.
“We’re model-agnostic on purpose. Claude might be the right call for one task, Qwen for another, and for some clients the data should never leave the building at all,” said Li Shaohuan, Founder and CEO of Fooyo.
Specialized forward deployed engineer roles are in high demand across the industry as companies including Anthropic, OpenAI, Google Cloud and Palantir compete for technical talent. Fooyo argues many SMEs in Singapore, Hong Kong, Japan, the UAE and the United States are not positioned to win that hiring competition on their own. Fooyo’s service is available now through an initial 30-minute workflow review (bookable at fooyo.sg/contact), in which prospective clients bring one operational process for assessment before scoping a pilot engagement.
