Google CEO to testify in Epic trial; judge reportedly angry with giant’s testimony

CARY – As Google’s CEO Sundar Pichai is scheduled to testify in Epic Games’ antitrust case on Tuesday  in federal court, the judge in the case reportedly is angry with what Google execs have had to say so far in the trial that began last week.

” Google’s chief legal officer has been summoned to Epic court to explain himself,” reports Sean Hollister for tech news site The Verge.

The judge, James Donato, “is not at all happy with Google about the testimony of its employees (including lawyers!) in the courtroom — as Epic has increasingly shown they ignored or joked or seemed unaware of their obligations to preserve evidence,” Hollister notes.

Hollister says the judge is “considering a mandatory jury instruction — which might tell the jury not to trust Google as much as they otherwise might.”
